Go to System Preferences Software Update Or, if you are on an older macOS verison, go to the Mac App Store and open Updates. You should find that the update/installation process carries on from. Uninstall Office for Mac - Office Support. Then, download and install the 16.29.1 build of Office for Mac. When you launch an app, go to the Help menu and choose Check for Updates to launch AutoUpdate. In AutoUpdate set it to manual so it doesn't try to install newer versions that won't run right in your version of Mac OS.
A 2015 MacBook Air can be upgraded to Mojave. The reason you are not finding anything in Updates is because it is not an update but rather an Upgrade. Get macOS Mojave.
